This is a non-Varsity performing ensemble at MHS.  In order to be in this group, students must demonstrate the desire to achieve a high level of musical maturity, technical proficiency, and commitment to rehearsal and practice time. Preparation and participation in the All-Region Auditions as well as the McKinney Solo & Ensemble contest is an expectation and requirment for Symphonic band members. All Symphonic Band ninth-graders will be required to prepare and audition for the ninth-grade All-Region Band. Private lessons are strongly encouraged. Financial aid is available. Participation in the marching band is required. Students will receive P.E. waiver for marching band during fall semester and Fine Arts credit during spring semester.
